Ever since Nintendo deigned to start making mobile games, I’ve had my fingers crossed that the Mario Kart franchise would eventually come to iOS. And it looks like I’ll be getting my wish soon, because Nintendo of America just tweeted out the bombshell news that a mobile version of Mario Kart, called Mario Kart Tour, is currently in the works!
The tweet reads as follows: “The checkered flag has been raised and the finish line is near. A new mobile application is now in development: Mario Kart Tour!” Apparently the game is set to release within the next financial year, which means it should hit the App Store and Google Play sometime between April 2018 and March 2019.

Aside from the title and rough release window, Nintendo has yet to reveal anything else about the game, such as whether it will be free-to-play with in-app purchases like Fire Emblem Heroes and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp or paid like Super Mario Run. As soon as I hear more, I’ll let you guys know.
