Sumptuous 3D Platformer ‘Suzy Cube’ Lands This Month

Noodlecake Games finally announced a release date for NorthernBytes’ Suzy Cube this week. The incredibly spiffy-looking, Super Mario 3D Land-esque platformer is due to leap onto iOS devices on June 19th. We’ve been hyped for this game (and eagerly following its development progress via Touch Arcade’s forums) for what feels like forever, so let’s hope it’s worth the wait!

Apple’s iPhone X Successor Might Be Less Expensive

Here’s some good news for anyone who was put off by the iPhone X’s $1000 price tag: it’s rumored that this year’s follow-up to that device will be significantly less expensive. This claim comes courtesy of well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who believes the second-gen iPhone X is likely to cost somewhere in the region of $800-$900.

‘Star Wars’ Director Rian Johnson Is a Big Mobile Gamer

This isn’t news per se, but we think it’s pretty cool that Hollywood director Rian Johnson (Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Looper, Brick) is such a big mobile gaming fan. In his tweet, Rian doesn’t mention any games by name, but he does give a shout out to Annapurna Interactive, the boutique indie publisher behind the likes of Florence and Gorogoa.

‘Asphalt 9’ Revving up for Release This Summer

Asphalt 9: Legends, the eagerly-anticipated sequel to Gameloft’s now-classic Asphalt 8: Airborne, is finally set to release on App Stores worldwide this summer, following a lengthy soft-launch phase in certain countries. The above trailer makes it look like another wonderfully fun and over-the-top slice of arcade racing, so we can’t wait to play!
