The world of wireless earbuds has moved quickly. So much so that a pair like the HONOR Earbuds 2 Lites need to do a few things very well to stand out – especially at a price that’s a fair bit higher than the cheapest pairs available out there.
Fortunately, they do. Despite being inspired by the Apple Airpods in how they look, they’re not too flashy – instead focusing on getting the core things right, and nailing them expertly.
They feel relatively solid for one, and although they don’t come with an IP rating they still held up fine during a few walks in the rain (okay, lots of walks in the rain – we are based in the UK after all).
The audio is also impressively robust. The balance between highs, lows and mids is solid regardless of the volume, and were ideal for most lower tempo music we listened to.
What is an impressive feature to have for such a lower priced set is the Audio Noise Cancellation, which can be toggled on and off. It works well and definitely places this several rungs above budget earbuds.
What most will appreciate is the battery life though, which is quite simply sensational. They can last for up to 32 hours, and the HONOR Earbuds 2 Lites only take an hour to charge back up.
There are some small issues as you’d expect of course, such as the controls being via tap patterns not always being easy to work out. They’re also very sensitive, with slight touches being enough for you to unwittingly pause or skip your music.
They’re also not the most elegant looking earbuds in the world, but this isn’t a dealbreaker.
If you’re looking for a set of earbuds that won’t break the bank – but deliver in the core areas that matter – the HONOR Earbuds 2 Lites certainly won’t let you down.
